The eating out scene in Newcastle is equally exciting with a long list of restaurants opening their doors and with them, a world of flavours.  Some of the highlights include: Spanish tapas at Bocados, and hearty German fare at Oma's Kitchen.  For Middle Eastern flavours visit the Persian Place and just down the road Habesha Ethiopian Restaurant offers traditional menu items and eating methods.

For Brazilian fun and flavour head to MEET at Honeysuckle or just across the road Nagisa Japanese restaurant brings authentic and fresh tasts to the teppanyaki table.  If you're enjoying the harbour vibe and are seeking out fresh seafood flavours, Rocksalt is your venue.  For a slightly more chilled pace, Cazador in the Hunter Street Mall and Sprout Dining upstairs at the Crown and Anchor Hotel are a perfect choice.  Mexican inspired Casa de Loco and Moor East Newcastle are also great options.

For those who like a menu with a twist Reserve Wine Bar's menu, developed by Cory Campbell, former head chef at Vue de Monde, Noma and The Square, offers contemporary bar food using quality produce, a dining must.  Supper Lane delivers an equally interesting menu that has a strong emphasis on all things cheese.  Newcastle's award-winning restaurants Subo and Restaurant Mason provide the fine dining touch but best be planning ahead as there's often a long waiting list.
