Terms of Reference

The terms of reference of the committee are:
  • To provide strategic advice and guidance on, and assist in the development of, environmental strategies for Newcastle City Council
  • To guide the implementation of environmental strategies for Council
  • To monitor and review progress of Council's environmental strategies
  • To facilitate, guide and contribute to environmental research and project activities
  • Within the context of Council's environmental strategies, to identify, investigate and advise on environmental challenges and opportunities presented to Council, including in relation to:
    • Climate change
    • Biodiversity
    • Air
    • Coast
    • Estuary
    • Water and floodplain management
    • Waste.
