North Lambton- Acacia Avenue Dog Park

Stage One plan for Acacia Avenue ReserveCity of Newcastle is holding an information session on the site of Newcastle’s first fenced dog park at Acacia Avenue Reserve, North Lambton.

Non dog-owners are also welcome to attend and learn about the upcoming works at the session on Saturday 18 May, from 10am to 12 noon.

Rangers will be onsite to offer free microchipping and information on responsible dog ownership. 

Stage 1 of the project is expected to commence on Monday 20 May and include:
  • 1.5m high chain-mesh fencing to create separate small and large dog areas.
  • Two shelters
  • 452 metres of accessible pathway
  • Two dog bubblers and dog dispenser bags
  • Signage
  • Tree planting and landscaped gardens
  • Informal gravel carpark
The 8,760sqm fenced area will be built as part of the City’s Dogs in Open Space Plan and will include separated areas for large and smaller dogs.

The existing off-leash area at the Reserve's lower level will be retained.
