Newcastle - Hunter Street (West) - building demolition
The building at 679A and 681 Hunter Street which is owned by City of Newcastle, will be demolished for a shared pathway and green space to be established alongside Cottage Creek between King Street and Hunter Street.
These works support the City’s strategy to utilise the Cottage Creek channel as a shared pathway between Hunter Street and King Street as part of a proposed cycleway from Honeysuckle to The Junction.
The new shared pathway connecting Hunter and King Street along Cottage Creek is part of the development of the Verve residences apartments.
Demolition will be scheduled when electrical works affected by a pause on all live work
across the Ausgrid network are resolved.
