North Stockton Boat Ramp Upgrade
Council is upgrading the existing trailer parking, building a new amenities building, and landscaping the area to provide more efficient parking, improve storm water drainage and amenity.
The project is expected to commence in early April 2017 and estimated to take 12 months, however the construction work is estimated to take approximately four months.
The boat ramp may be fully or partially closed for a short period during construction. An alternative boat ramp exists at South Stockton. The existing amenities will remain open until the new building is completed. Following the completion the existing toilet will be demolished.
Consultation on the design of this project was undertaken in 2015 and as a result of feedback a number of amendments were made including retaining the existing fish cleaning facility, inclusion of a wash down bay and alterations to traffic movements.
The project is jointly funded by Newcastle City Council and NSW Government (Transport for NSW).
