Special Events

There are a number of major events at Fort Scratchley each year including:

  • Labour Day
  • Australia Day
  • ANZAC Day
  • Queen's Birthday

Activities include:

  • Firing of the 6" Mk VII Guns
  • Firing of the 2 Pound Cannon
  • Military re-enactments
  • Military vehicle displays
  • Raising and lowering of flag ceremonies

Music of the Guns

6.30pm, Saturday 9 March 2019

Presented by the Fort Scratchley Historical Society.
Featuring the Australian Army Band Newcastle & guest musicians

Bring along a picnic, a small chair or rug and a bottle of wine (small eskys only) and enjoy the sights and sounds of this event, culminating in the 1812 overture, where the guns of Fort Scratchley become a part of the band!

Gates open at 5.30pm for a 6.30pm concert, concluding at 8.30pm with the 1812 overture and firing of the guns.

Please note that there will be LIMITED parking on the Fort grounds however drop off will be allowed at the Inner Gate. The overflow parking area on Nobbys Road will be open.
