Volunteers

Ever wanted to volunteer at the library? Newcastle Region Library can provide you with an opportunity to contribute your energy and skills to enhance the service we provide to the community.

We provide volunteer positions in the following areas:

Local History Library Volunteer Program
The Local History Library volunteers support the staff in conserving the collection and making it more accessible to the community.

The volunteer program currently runs on a Thursday morning in the Local History Reading Room.

Digital Services -  Technology Helpers
Are you comfortable using digital devices and helping others to use the internet? Then Newcastle Library needs you! Our digital services team offers group digital literacy sessions and one on one tech help across our 9 branches. If you are keen to volunteer and give back to the community, we have plenty of people for you to help.

Literacy Tutoring
Our Outreach team are looking for tutors to assist adults needing assistance with basic literacy.

Other opportunities will arise in other areas of the library in the future. School students wishing to volunteer at the library should contact their school.

If this sounds like you, register your interest via our volunteer enquiry form.
