The Local Government Sustainability award honours a NSW local council that has successfully developed and integrated environmental management and sustainable practices into strategy, planning, operations and service delivery.  The Climate Change Leadership Award recognises outstanding initiatives and/or leadership in the field of climate change mitigation and adaptation.

United Nations Association of Australia

  • Named a Finalist for the Sustainability Leadership Award (2014).

Each year, in support of United Nations World Environment Day (June 5), the United Nations Association of Australia recognises innovative and outstanding environmental programs and initiatives from across Australia and the important work of Australian environmental leaders through its World Environment Day Awards. These pre-eminent national awards play an important role in raising awareness about key environmental issues and challenges, and inspiring and motivating individuals, organisations and businesses to take positive steps towards sustainability and environmental excellence in their homes, schools, communities and workplaces.

Local Government NSW Excellence in the Environment Awards

The Local Government Excellence in the Environment Awards were initiated in 1998 and are held annually. The Awards culminate in two prestigious Local Sustainability Awards: one for overall council performance, and one to recognise the individual achievements of a council staff member or elected councillor in the field of sustainability.
