Community Consultation

Property NSW is currently reviewing all existing material and information and will work with all stakeholders, including residents, landholders, the EPA and City of Newcastle, to determine and implement the appropriate remediation strategy.

Property NSW will continue to liaise directly with residents and landholders.
 

Previous consultation

Council provided updates about the environmental investigation to the community in September and November 2016. Follow the below links for previously issued information:
  Council held community information sessions for local residents on 15 and 18 August 2016 at the Ethnic Communities Council Hall in Waratah. The sessions provided community members with information about the historical Waratah Gasworks site, and plans for the initial and future investigations.
  Affected residents were provided with broad options identified from the Remediation Options Assessment at information sessions held by Council at the Ethnic Communities Council Hall in Waratah on Monday 20 November 2017 and Tuesday 21 November 2017.
