Delivery program and budget

Council has prepared its 2013-2018 Delivery Program, 2017/2018 Operational Plan and 2017/2018 Fees and Charges document. Each of these draft documents is on public exhibition for comment until Monday 29 May 2017.

Draft Strategic Position for the Management of Low Lying Areas

Council has prepared a strategic position paper outlining how we plan to protect the low lying suburbs of Carrington, Wickham, Maryville and Islington from significant flood risk. Submission close Sunday 28 May 2017.

John T Bell Drive Maryland proposed pedestrian refuges

Council is currently reconstructing carriageway, kerb and guttering on John T-Bell Drive between Boundary Road and McNaughton Avenue. Submissions close Friday 26 May 2017.

'Little' King Street, Newcastle West raised thresholds

Council proposes to install raised pedestrian crossings in 'little' King Street, Newcastle, east of Stewart Avenue. Submissions close Friday 26 May 2017.

Newcastle DCP 2012 amendment - laneways

The amendment proposes a new section "Development Adjoining Laneways" to provide guidelines for development and standards for laneway construction. Submissions close Monday 15 May 2017.

Planning Proposal to amend Newcastle LEP 2012

Planning Proposal in relation to land at 26 Edith Street, Waratah (Wrightson Reserve) from Community to Operational. Submissions close Wednesday 10 May 2017.

Platt Street, Waratah proposed upgrade to existing zebra / children's crossing

Council proposes to upgrade the existing zebra / children's crossing outside Corpus Christi Primary School on Platt Street to a raised threshold crossing with kerb extensions to improve safety. Submissions close Friday 26 May 2017.

The Wickham Project

This project provides an update on Council projects occurring in Wickham. Projects include Wickham Master Plan, Wickham Local Area Traffic Management Plan, Council works surrounding Newcastle Interchange and low lying lands study.

Union, Laman and Bull Streets, Cooks Hill Proposed upgrade of zebra crossings

Council proposes to upgrade the existing zebra crossings at the Union / Laman Street intersection to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety. Submissions close Friday 26 May 2017,

Wallsend Local Centre: Draft Public Domain Plan and Traffic Plan

Council is in the process of developing a Public Domain Plan (PDP) for Wallsend Local Centre, to ensure the best aesthetic, environmental and financial results are achieved when its infrastructure is renewed.

Waste Management Fees and Charges 2017/2018

Newcastle City Council owns and operates the Summerhill Waste Management Centre. On 14 March 2017 Council resolved to place on public exhibition the proposed waste management fees and charges for 2017/2018. Submissions close Monday 24 April 2017.
