Bathers Way - Newcastle Beach concept design

Bathers Way - Newcastle Beach concept design
Planning for the next stage of the Bathers Way project - Newcastle Beach is underway.

As part of the community engagement we held four drop-in sessions so you could view the proposed concept designs and chat with staff about what's planned. These plans are illustrated in the image gallery and our animation also presents the proposed design.

As this is the most complex stage and includes upgrades to Newcastle Beach between Newcastle Surf Life Saving Club and Kind Edward Park the project is divided into two phases:
  • Stage 1: The Bather's Way and Recreational Facilities
  • Stage 2: Newcastle Community Hub (subject to funding)

Drop-in sessions

  • Mayfield Seniors Centre, 187-189 Maitland Road - Tuesday 4 December, 5.30 - 7.30pm
  • Newcastle City Hall, Mulubinba Room - Thursday 6 December, 5.30-7.30 pm
  • Wallsend library, 30 Bunn Street  -Tuesday 11 December, 5.30 - 7.30pm
  • Adamstown Bowling Club, 504 Glebe Road - Wednesday 12 December, 5.30 - 7.30pm
At the sessions, information was provided in relation to the planned upgrades and there was an opportunity to discuss all aspects of the project, including:
  • the Bather's Way path, kiosk, amenities and exercise equipment
  • skate park and bowl
  • shade, shelters, seating and landscaping
  • redevelopment of the Newcastle Surf Pavillion
