Application to place a Bulk Waste Container (BWC) on a Public Road

If you wish to place a BWC, you should contact a BWC supplier who will advise you if they are registered with City of Newcastle (CN) and can submit the application to us on your behalf.

We issue approvals for BWCs to be placed on roadways including footpaths. A BWC placed on private property does not require consent from us.

Please note that it is a 72 hour turnaround period for approvals. BWCs can be placed for a maximum of 28 days from date of approval.

Please note to place a bulk waste container in a timed or restricted parking area you will need to apply for a Temporary On Street Parking Permit.

Where possible BWCs should be placed on private property (approval will not be granted unless there is insufficient space on private property).
