This permit allows the permit holder to park for longer than the signposted parking restrictions on the roadway (ie. 15 Minute, 1 hour, 2 hour, Loading Zone, etc) within the Newcastle LGA.
On-street (temporary) parking permits are useful for the following purposes:
- Building/office maintenance works
- Extended loading and unloading activity
- Renovation works
- Events - bus/coach parking
- VIP's visit - to reserve space in advance
- Small charity fundraising event
- Weddings - to reserve space in advance
- Removalist vans
- Placement of skip bins.
You cannot request a permit to park in a No Stopping or No Parking zone.
Please note the issue of a permit does not guarantee availability of on-street parking spaces for the required day. You may need to reserve the parking spaces by the placement of traffic cones or by arranging with businesses/clients on the day.
