About Bathers Way, King Edward Park
Phase One: Development of the Renewed Concept Design
City of Newcastle is now preparing to renew a preliminary concept design of the Bathers Way section which runs through King Edward Park. This will extend from the previous works at The Terrace carpark, through King Edward Park, connecting to Shortland Esplanade and through to South Newcastle Beach.
A preliminary concept design was developed in 2014, and we are now seeking a designer to revisit the preliminary design against current heritage, native title and ecological requirements – before coming back to the community in mid 2023 to ask for updated feedback.

We are accepting expressions of interest to form a Community Reference Group (CRG) to help shape this next stage of Bathers Way. All applications must be received by 5pm Wednesday 15 February 2023.
