Wallsend Railway Goods Shed
The Wallsend Railway Goods Shed is a heritage-listed building built in 1877 on the old Newcastle Wallsend Coalmining Railway line at 76 Cowper Road, Wallsend.

The Goods Shed has a number of areas for hire. All rooms are carpeted and air-conditioned.

  • The downstairs meeting room can seat 40 people and has disabled access and provision for AV presentations.
  • The upstairs rooms include a large meeting room suitable for 40 people, 2 small meeting rooms suitable for 15 people each and an office. The rooms have no disabled access due to the nature of the building.

There is a reasonable kitchen with kettle, stove, microwave and fridge and a servery window onto the Downstairs Meeting Room.

Please note that a minimum of 5 working days' notice is required to book this hall. Bookings made with less than 10 working days' notice will incur a late administration fee.

Casual hire fees - reduced rates of hire may be applicable for charity events or regular NFP hires.

  • Meeting Room hire fee - $10.30 per hour
  • Office hire fee - $8.30 per hour or $53.60 per day
  • Low risk security bond - $200
  • High-risk security bond - $600
  • Cleaning charge - $86.60 (for events between 5pm Friday and 8am Monday or as required)
  • Late administration fee (for bookings with less than 10 working days' notice) $56.70
