The Newcastle Coastal Management Working Group will be involved in the future management of our coastline.
We are working to develop and implement Coastal Management Programs which address coastal and estuary issues. An important part of this process is having members of the community involved in resolving coastal and estuary management issues for the benefit of all stakeholders, residents and our environment.
Thank you to everyone who expressed an interest in joining the Newcastle Coastal Working Group. Applications closed on 19 June and we are currently reviewing these applications and will notify community members of the outcome in the coming weeks.
The objective of the Newcastle Coastal Management Working Group is to provide strategic guidance on the preparation, certification, implementation and review of Coastal Management Programs pertaining to the Newcastle LGA under the Coastal Management Act 2016 and associated guidelines.

We would like to form a working group that relects the diversity of our community. All City of Newcastle residents are welcome to submit an EOI.
Should we receive nominations in excess of the number required, a process will be undertaken to assess applications against the selection criteria.
