We would like to form a working group that relects the diversity of our community. All City of Newcastle residents are welcome to submit an EOI.
Should we receive nominations in excess of the number required, a process will be undertaken to assess applications against the selection criteria.
Selection criteria includes:
- Knowledge/awareness/interest of coastal/estuarine issues and management (including coastal hazards, biodiversity, water, recreation and heritage)
- Understanding that the Coastal Management Act 2016 and associated guidelines exist, and that this process must be followed in the development, certification, implementation and review of CMPs
- Understanding the role of local government
- Commitment to participatory and consultative process
- History of relevant community involvement e.g. group involvement or ability to disseminate information to targeted audience
- Availability to attend scheduled working group meetings (during business hours)
- Abilitiy to comply with Council's Volunteer Framework
- Agreeing to the Terms of Reference for the Newcastle Coastal Management Program Working Group.
Selection process
Applications will be reviewed by a City of Newcastle panel. Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be advised in writing of the outcome. See Terms of Reference for more information.
