Our Natural Connection program delivers a range of activities that connects the community to Newcastle's unique natural areas. Through engagement, education and community partnerships the program strives to conserve and protect our important coastline, estuary, wetlands, bushland and creeks.
Throsby Catchment Care
Earlier this year we held a creek-a-thon of activities to help protect our much-loved Throsby Creek. As part of 'Throsby Catchment Care', we held two waterbug workshops and a community planting day at Islington Park. Hundreds of plants were put in the ground which will now protect trees in Islington Park and improve Throsby Creek's water quality.
