Loose-fill asbestos testing by Department of Fair Trading

Newcastle City Council is aware of NSW Fair Trading's announcement of free testing of Hunter homes for loose-fill asbestos today.

Please note that just 149 homes out of around 65,000 tested around the state to date have been found to contain the material.

If you're concerned your house may have loose-fill asbestos in the ceiling, please call Service NSW on 1300 784 379 or register for free testing online at loosefillasbestos.nsw.gov.au by 31 August.

NSW Fair Trading staff will be available to answer questions at Stockland Wallsend from 11am to 5pm on Wednesday 25 July.
