The City of Newcastle is inviting comments on a proposed lease of Part Lot 1 DP 566199, being the Whispers on the Wharf Kiosk, 3A Hunter Street, Stockton NSW to Lexies on the Beach Pty Ltd for the purpose of operating a refreshment kiosk for the sale of food and beverages for a term of 12 Months.

The grant of the lease is subject to Division 2 Part 2, Chapter 6 of the Local Government Act 1993.

The City of Newcastle is inviting comments on a proposed lease of part of Lot 1 DP 1174209, being the Ground Floor of the building known as No 1 Sportsground (120 Union Street, Newcastle West) to Newcastle Netball Association Inc. for a term of 5 years.

The grant of the lease is subject to Division 2 Part 2, Chapter 6 of the Local Government Act 1993.

Strategic Planning Notices

Draft Planning Agreement - MA2025/00385 and DA2024/00343 - VPA2025/00003 - 347, 357, 365 and 369 Hunter Street, Newcastle (commonly known as the Clarendon Hotel) 

City of Newcastle has received an offer from Stevens Nominees Pty Ltd to enter into a Planning Agreement (PA) associated with modification application MA2025/00385 and DA2024/00343 which granted consent for a mixed-use development comprising hotel / motel accommodation, food and drink premises and, alterations and additions, to the Clarendon Hotel. 

The PA proposes to deliver public domain works (works) between Wheeler Place and Burwood Street consistent with the draft Civic Public Domain Plan. The works will improve landscaping, useability and public pedestrian access. The works are valued at $402,474 (incl. GST). 

The PA also dedicates 68m2 of land for public domain area at no cost to Council and a monetary contribution of $39,522 (subject to indexation).
