If a dog has attacked you, your pet, or another person, you can report it here.

Report a dog attack

If you are experiencing issues with a barking dog, you need to: 

• Raise the issue directly with the dog owner
• Seek assistance from the Community Justice Centre to mediate with the dog owner on your behalf
• Keep a log of the actions you've taken to address the issue and the frequency/length of time that the dog barks

If the issue persists after conducting these steps, submit a request including a log of actions taken and details of the barking activity.

Report nuisance bird or livestock

If your pet dog or cat has been desexed and you need our assistance to update their status on the NSW Pet Registry, please notify us. You'll need to provide proof of your pet's desexing.

Update desex status

If you have trouble registering your pet through NSW Pet Registry, you can easily register or update your pet's ownership details online.

You will need:

• pet registration form
• proof of desexing (if required)
• proof of adoption from a recognised pound or shelter (if required)
• any other documentation for the animal registration (Change of ownership form, Permanent identification form if moving from another state).

If your pet cat or dog has sadly passed away, you must notify the relevant authorities within 28 days. To arrange this, either:

• Update your pet's status on the NSW Pet Registry to 'deceased', or
• Complete the following online form so that we can update the register on your behalf
