Blackbutt Reserve multipurpose community facility and café

We are delivering a new multipurpose community facility and café at Newcastle’s beating green heart, Blackbutt Reserve.
This exciting new destination will feature a café with undercover seating, and an environmental education facility, with space for special events and visitor information. Optimising views over Blackbutt Reserve at Carnley Avenue, the new facility and café will be inclusive and accessible, catering for people with diverse mobility and other sensory needs.
Construction works completed
The new building is now complete with the construction fencing coming down through March 2025.
An exciting new café will be opening here soon, with our new operator busy fitting out the space.
It is expected the café will be ready to welcome the community and pour visitors their daily caffeine fix in late May 2025.
