City of Newcastle's No.2 Sportsground off-street car park has 200 parking spaces, including six disabled spaces, just a few minutes' walk from Marketown, the King Street fare-free bus stop, Hunter Street and Honeysuckle's business centre.

The car park, on Smith Street, is part of a $7 million upgrade of the No.2 Sportsground site completed in 2012.

Parking Monday-Friday costs $4/hr or $8 all day. The car park is free on weekends.

The Mall car park closed

The Mall Car Park has been closed since the end of March 2020.The Car Park was in an extremely poor structural condition and given the significant cost to bring it back to contemporary standards while meeting all building requirements was cost prohibitive.

The City of Newcastle (CN) is proposing to demolish the former Mall Car Park to make way for a project that will open up the view corridor and link Christ Church Cathedral through to Newcastle Harbour.
